Yin Yang

Yin Yang is a special project for many reasons. The model, Maydeh, featured is from La Have, France. I was walking down by NYU with an old high school friend when I spotted her. I ran across the street and asked if she'd modeled before and if she would like to be in a shoot. She said yes but on one condition, that it be the next day because she was also leaving town the next day. Catherine Rogers, the photographer, agreed that night and we shot the next morning. I call it Yin Yang because of the color shift from black and white and her mood. I wanted to show her meek and humble side, yet the spicy Naomi Campbell bad ass that I knew she could pull out.
